Udhagamandalam: An injured sambar deer calf was rescued at Indunagar, near here, on Monday.

Forest Ranger P. Premkumar told ‘The Hindu' that the calf was spotted by the staff of the Kendriya Vidyalaya near the Hindustan Photo Films.

On being informed, a team of forest officials took custody of the calf and arranged for its treatment at a veterinary centre here.
