HYDERABAD: Cyberabad police arrested 39 persons for indulging in cock fight on the city outskirts on Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, Medchal police raided AK Yadav Gardens located in Somaram on the city outskirts and arrested 26 persons from Kompally and Jeedimetla areas for betting. Police seized Rs 41,000 cash, 26 mobile phones and 16 vehicles from the gambling site.
"Three cocks died while fighting, but we managed to save six others," Medchal inspector V Yadgiri Reddy said. Keesara police conducted raids in agricultural fields near Karimguda where cock fight was being held. Six gamblers were arrested and Rs 9,500 cash was seized. Similarly, Medipally police in a raid at Pentareddy Colony arrested seven persons and seized Rs 2,000 cash. All the arrested were remanded in judicial custody.
